""I wanted to read the book The God Delusion because basically I believed the title. The premise of the book basically if that the question of whether God exists is a scientific question that's science can answer, and the answer is that the probability that God exists is extremely low. It also says a little bit about how the God delusion came to exist and what we should do about it.
I had the feeling that Dawkins was a man that I would personally like. I think a lot of people dislike him just because of his beliefs; but I think personally, he's an excellent writer. He is able to write not only for a scientific audience but for the lay audience, as this book is addressed. In particular, I wished that he had said more about his personal conversion from the religion to atheism.
Someone who is really thinks that there might be something to religion that isn't sure, I think it could move them in that - move them toward his point of view. I think somebody who is already deeply religious would probably be unimpressed by his arguments. I think I would give it five stars. I think this is a pivotal book; I think that he may very well replace Madeline Murray as the icon of American atheists."
